Reflection

Every time you want to apply for some work , required virtue is to work in a group or as a team.Working in team, you have to know how to give or take advices. On our lectures we definitely learn lot of things. The thing we really appreciate is team work. On Monday, 5th we were working on modes of inquiry .Our mode was reflection. Before our assignments, we were listening to ''Shouting across the Divide'', some kind of radio-drama, released in the States. It was about a Muslim woman and her dealing with life in the States after September 11th ,and her daughter's struggle with friends in school. We definitely went through some kind of diversity training, eventough we knew nothing about it.

We learned about situation of Muslims in the States and their fight against every kind of religious discrimination. Every class we had with our professor was a diversity training. We spent hours learning some new stuff, that seemed foolish or even stupid sometimes, but afterwards we see that all those foolish things have their own purpose. All those stuff we learned and heard helped us with writing and reading, but not any kind of reading, it is reading that makes us discover the entire structure of a written piece whether it's an essay, journal, movie review etc. Our writing also improved, and creating more logicly gathered parts into circle is improved too.

On Monday, we were also reviewing a picture of a woman during the Great Depression. We never thought that one picture can have that many secrets. We never knew that a picture is actually a book we read with our mind, thoughts and feelings and that in every picture there are hundreds of other ones. Another interesting part of this reviewing was that we found out a lot from each other, working as a team or group.I've seen and heard my colleagues describing that picture, and while they were explaining it,entire new opinion of those people was created inside my mind. That was definitely diversity training.

As a team we can think faster, harder, and better. As a team we will develop new ideas, and we are going to solve issues and problems, we couldn't solve on our own.
We learned some new words, and phrases. That's why our class didn't go downhill. We learned from other one's experiences, we learned how to express ideas in front of a group. We even heard of an American writer- John Steinbeck and his ''Grapes of wrath''.

All in all, in class full of smiles and joy, you can learn lot of things, things good for you and your life, believe me. A smile opens even iron gates.

Sasha,

Your homework has been very insightful so far, and well-written. I'm glad you're taking your blog seriously.
